Nella and Tony

I had moved to Dutchtown where I bought my parents’ house from the estate. Not much happened until Linda graduated from Mississippi State University in May, 1995. Sam went to Arizona on a LSU internship that summer and I went to visit him.

Sam married Alison Thomas from Clinton, LA in March, 1996. They lived in Wyoming on an internship and I went visit them that summer also. Sam and Alison graduated from LSU in December, 1996. It was cute they put Mr. D and Mrs. D on their caps and got to walk in side-by-side.

In January, 1997 Linda married Todd Cason from Dutchtown. They eloped to Las Vegas, NV. They live in Clinton, LA on a small farm. Linda is a stay at home wife and Todd works as a design contractor for a plumbing company. He is working on a hotel in New Orleans right now.

In 1998 Sam and Alison moved to Anaconda, MT.  I visited them several times and I even went snow skiing. The bunny slopes were my favorite. They had a baby in 2000, Glenn Lawrence. They are now living in Dutchtown and Sam works for Pelican Point Golf Course and Alison works for Your Warehouse.

Here's my family below - Todd & Linda Cason, me, Alison & Sam Duplessis, and Glenn, the baby.

As life goes by I have become a working Mère (that’s French for grandmother). I am still working at EATEL. I was on EATEL’s telephone directory. I enjoy traveling with my sister, Amelie’s family. I enjoy gardening and bird watching in my back yard with Glenn Lawrence. I do genealogy work and I cannot wait until Glenn gets older so we can go to the LSU games.

God is blessing me greatly.

1993 biography

My family moved to Dutchtown 10 months after graduation where I met and married Glenn in 1964.  In '66 Glenn was drafted into the Army which gave me the opportunity to live in Colorado fro a while.  After the Army, we settled down in Dutchtown where Glenn worked at Vulcan, we had 14 acres of land, we had two children, built a house with our hands, and a good horse business but in '77 we decided to move to Mississippi to FARM.  We bought 475 acres of land to farm soybeans and cattle and horses.  We had a farm supply store in Centerville, MS.  In '81 Glenn developed a heart disease and in '86 we were told he had only months to live so we started selling equipment, land, and store.  Linda started MSU in '90 where she still attends.  In December '90 Glenn died.  I moved back to Dutchtown and started work at East Ascension Telephone Company.  Sam started LSU in '92 which is where we are now.  After 27 years of "JUST" being a wife, mother, and farmer's helper I had to learn how to be a liberated woman, head of household, single parent, widow, career woman and face the empty nest all at the same time.  But in James 1:27 "look after orphans and widows" and God is faithful because that is the only way I could have made it through the last two years.
