Diane Vicknair Pickering
I'm a grandmother to a little 17 month little girl, Mila.
Also grandmother to two cats and two dogs. My husband, Larry, found out the year of Katrina that he has bladder cancer. In 2006, we went to MD Anderson for treatment and surgery. Thank God, he is now in remission and has CAT scans every 8 months.
I promised if everything went fine for him that I would start doing mission rosaries. These rosaries are mailed by an ex-airline stewardess in Florida. She has them sent throughout the world by plane and boat. Larry and I both had to find something to do to keep our minds busy so he started making custom fishing rods and now wood turnings. My daughter and I started making sterling silver jewelry and rosaries.
I have been doing a lot of traveling with my son and his wife. We've been
to Rome, Venice, Milan, Hawaii, Prague, Czek Republic. And this year to
Paris, Marseille, Nice and Barcelona, Spain. I felt I could not miss going
as this is a chance in a lifetime. Larry is unable to go because of the business
and we both can't take off at the same time. He and I went to the Canary
Islands, Caracas and Canada.
